Mark your calendars! We applied to and were accepted into the Kids in the Crowd for a University Ringette game on Sunday February 4th! The game is in Leduc at the Leduc Recreation Centre in the Robinson Arena and it starts at 2:30 but there are some pre-game activities for us to participate in so we should be there for 1:30.This event is set up differently from the Rush game we attended. Our girls will interact with the University Ringette team and participate in the warm up for half an hour. They also receive UR t-shirts that the team can sign if desired. There's also time allotted for our team to create posters. It's a great bonding experience for our team and it's a great opportunity to see a fast paced ringette game!
Please read below for more information. We have a game that morning at Stu Barnes and if anybody needs a ride to Leduc I'll have room for a few extra bodies. I will order adult small t-shirts for all of the girls unless you tell me you would like a different size. Please let me know by January 25th.
Thank you for your interest in the University Ringette Kids in the Crowd program. Please review the following details carefully as it should provide you with lots of important information.
I have booked Feb 4 for your team. Should something arise at a later date that prevents you from attending on that day please let me know right away as we have lots of teams on waiting lists who would love to take your date if you can't come.
There is no charge for your team to attend a Kids in the Crowd event. We also encourage siblings, parents, friends, relatives, etc. to come along and enjoy the event. There is ample seating for all at the arenas where we host Kids in the Crowd events.
In order to receive the maximum benefit and enjoyment from a Kids in the Crowd event we recommend that your players and coaches arrive 1 hour prior to the start time of the game. This will ensure your players have ample opportunity to visit with the University players and participate in their pre-game warm up routine. Approximately 30 minutes before game time your players will be taken to an area where they will be provided with all the necessary supplies to make their own decorative ringette posters. We ask that coaches and/or parents from your team supervise the girls while they make their posters for approximately 20 minutes.
If possible, you should designate 1 or 2 parents from your team to be the official photographers for your Kids in the Crowd visit. If you wish to have some of their pictures posted on our website or Facebook page just email them to us and we’d be happy to put them online for you.
At the conclusion of the game your players will all receive a free University Ringette T-shirt. If they wish to have the T-shirts autographed by the University girls that can certainly be arranged.
Please provide me with a cell number I could call in case there are unforeseen issues on the day you have chosen. As well, in due course please provide me with a list of T-shirt sizes (adult sizing) for all the players on your team.
