Welcome to the 2017-18 ringette season! My name is Fenna Poelzer and I'm glad to be your child's head coach for the next six months or so.  It'll be another busy year and I'm looking forward to getting it started on the right foot.

I'd like to have a parent meeting before Saturday's practice to get things organized and running smoothly.  We are on the ice at 10:45 on Saturday, so please plan to meet at 9:45 at the arena.  I'd like to be done in time for everyone to go and tie skates so that doesn't become a distraction.  I need at least 1 parent for each player (both are welcome) to attend.

I'll be bringing some sheets for the kids to fill out to help me get to know them and plan to have a short chat with them all after practice in the dressing room.

 

Please start thinking about what you would like to volunteer for. The jobs that need filling are:

Manager (someone with organizational skills because I don't have those)

Treasurer (organizational skills are handy here too, and maybe some math)

Assistant Coach #1 (skating skills important, but ringette can be learned)

Assistant Coach #2 (skating skills useful, but not essential)

Timekeeper Scheduler (we will have a shot clock this year, so 3 parents will be assigned during each home game by this person)

Social Coordinator

Fundraising #1

So if you're math nerdy like me, you'll notice that there are exactly as many roles as there are families on this team.  This means that everyone will get a role, so attending the meeting is the best way to get the job that you want. 

 

I'm looking forward to a fun year and would like to get a team bonding event set up fairly soon.  If anyone is willing/able to open up their home for a potluck/bbq, or if there's any other ideas, please be ready to chat about that on Saturday.
