Reminder: Code of Conduct Expectations

As we head into the second half of the season and in preparation for playdowns and provincials, we would like to remind our members and participants about the need to be mindful of one’s conduct.

There will be many moments of celebration along with moments of disappointment. It can be an emotional roller coaster for many of us; be it in the stands, behind the bench or on the ice. Because of this, it is a good time to check in and remind ourselves that this is still a game that is focused on the development of our athletes as a whole. It is important to remember that we are also developing Coaches and Referees as well.

During the big games, it is not uncommon to get caught up in the excitement or the tension of the moment and willingly voice our concerns or opinions toward something or someone on the ice. Please remember that there is a “Ringette Alberta - Code of Conduct” in place and that there are proper channels and processes for dealing with these types of situations. We strongly encourage all participants to understand and adhere to this policy.

Please take a few minutes to review Ringette Alberta’s Code of Conduct (link here), True Sport Principles (link here) and Ringette Alberta’s Complaints and Discipline Policy (link here).
