New Schedule
Hi Everyone! Well we have all seen the girls schedule for the rest of the season and I am sure that I am not the only one who was disappointed! For those that may not understand how these things work I will try to explain. The first 6 games are a bit of a crap shoot as far as who you play and then the repooling happens based on the games that were played. Unfortunately for us we have those darn Hinton games at the beginning that show 2 losses and the last game we played against Red Deer didn't actually show for repooling became that game was supposed to played earlier and we had to reschedule due to a tournament. That being said we would be 7th overall and that puts us at the top of the bottom pool instead of where we really should be! We have not played Sherwood Park so hopefully they will be some competition for us but we will have to wait and see. As far as the other teams that we will be playing they may not give us much in the way of competition but we are planning on taking this opportunity to teach the girls some different strategies that they can practice and refine in those games. We are also planning on scheduling as many exhibition games with teams like St. Albert, Leduc and even our other SGRA team whenever we get a full ice practice that is not at 7:00am!!! We will do our best to ensure that the girls are being challenged and continue to grow as a players and as a team. On a different note, our game this Saturday is at the TLC and at the perfect time for the girls to go for a swim after the game. Have them bring their swimsuits and towels and I will be staying at the TLC if anyone wants to join me for some light hearted conversation! If anyone would need a ride home after the swim let me know and we will make arrangements if parents have other plans.
